UL Style Tray Cables
The UL styles included in the Cable-uni Cables tray cables portfolio are: UL 13 UL 2250 UL 1685 UL 1277. Cable-uni tray cables have copper conductors, insulated with PVC, and sheathed in flame retardant, UL resistant PVC. Where applicable, the PVC insulation is heat resistant, suitable for conductor operating temperatures up to 105℃, which are considered 'high temperatures' in many cases.Manufactured to UL styles including UL13 UL2250, UL1685, UL1277, for use in North American systems and those for export, tray cables are available with or without screens - or shielding as it is more commonly referred to in the US. The screens can be applied collectively around the grouped pairs, or individually and collectively where the pairs themselves are also protected from electromagnetic interference.

There is a broad range of tray cables, not limited to the PLTC, ITC, and TC types. our wider portfolio of instrumentation cables, including the BS EN 50288-7 cables with LSZH sheathing may be suitable depending on prevailing wiring regulations. Please get in touch with our technical team who will be happy to assist.Full details of cable sizes, dimensional data, and electrical characteristics, are on the technical datasheets, with any additionally required information supplied upon request.
What is the Tray cable?
Tray cables transmit digital or analogue signals and are designed to be installed on cable tray as a method of routing around installations. They fall into distinct categories - power limited tray cables (PLTC) for instrumentation applications, referenced to as type ITC, and power and control cables, known commonly as type TC cables. PLTC cables, including the ITC cables, are most commonly available rated 300V, designed specifically for power limiting circuits. PLTC cables have applications in alarm systems, intercom systems, and in industrial machinery and control systems.
Tray cables (TC) have a higher voltage rating of 600V, and are designed for both power and control applications. They are suitable for use in Class 1, Division 2 hazardous locations, and Class 1 control circuits. and where appropriate can also be used for direct burial installations.
It should be noted that it is recommended that UL Style 300V and 600V cables should be kept separate in cable trays to avoid cross-talk to the signals.
