Spaced Aerial Cable Description
SAC, or Spaced Aerial Cable, refers to a type of cable installation where cables are spaced apart and supported by aerial structures such as poles or towers. This method is commonly used for overhead cable installations, particularly in telecommunications and power distribution networks. The key features and advantages of SAC include:
Physical Separation: Cables in a SAC arrangement are physically separated from each other, typically with a specific spacing between them. This reduces interference and crosstalk between the cables, which is crucial for maintaining signal quality in telecommunications.Support Structure: SAC cables are supported by aerial structures like utility poles or towers. This overhead installation method is often more cost-effective and easier to maintain compared to underground cable installations.
Construction
Conductors: Stranded compacted circular hard drawn aluminum wire.Conductor screen: Extruded semi-conductive compound
Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). Color: Natural
Sheath: Track resistant Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) / HDPE. Color: Black
