(N)SSCHÖU Cable
A heavy duty flexible rubber power cable made generally to VDE0250 part 812 and with tinned copper braid screen, the (N)SSCHÖU cable is commonly used to connect mining, drilling and tunnelling fixed equipment and as temporary connections for materials handling equipment. Suitable for installation in dry, damp, wet and in hazardous environments including for permanent submersion in fresh water, salt water, storm water, oily water and sewage-contaminated water, to a depth of 100 metres. The (N)SSCHÖU cable has an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +80℃ when fixed and -25℃ to +80℃ when flexed. The tough rubber outersheath of the (N)SSCHOU cable offers flame retardance and protection from mechanical stresses as well as UV radiation, oils and greases, abrasions and tears as found within the mining industry. It is suitable as a trailing cable for surface (opencast) operations.
The (N)SSCHOU cable is configured as a 3+3 cable - 3 power / phase cores with 3 earth conductors. Phase conductor sizes range from 16mm2 to 240mm2. The (N)SSCHOU cable is a 0.6/1kV voltage cable, but lists a maximum AC voltage of 0.7/1.2kV and a maximum DC voltage of 1.8kV.
