Triplex URD Cable Application:
Triplex URD cable (Triplex Aluminium Conductor 600V Secondary Type URD cable) is mainly used for underground secondary distribution applications. It has three phase conductors which are laid parallel to each other. Two of the phase conductors are live wires while the other one is neutral wire which is used main the power balance in the URD cable. The neutral wire has a yellow stripe which is used for identification of the cable. These conductors can transmit large amounts of power going up to 600 volts.Triplex URD Cable Construction:
Black phase insulated conductors cabled with neutral. Neutral will be marked with yellow striping or yellow jacket. And the neutral messengers are concentrically stranded AAC, ACSR, or 6201 aluminum alloy. The conductors are manufactured with ridges for phase identification(one conductor with one ridge, one conductor with two ridges ,one conductor is plain).
Conductors: Compact stranded AA-8000 series aluminum alloy conductors, AAC, ACSR.
Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). Neutral conductor identified with yellow striping or full yellow jacket
Triplex URD Cable Features:
• Can resist high temperatures of up to 90°C
• Corrosion resistant conductors
• Heat and moisture resistant insulation
• Lead free triplex wire
• 600 volt URD cable
